  • at any price [값이 얼마든, 어떠한 희생을 치르더라도=at any cost]
  • whatever the cost and difficulties may be
  • - She was determined to have a child at any price.

 

  • at dead of night [한 밤중에]
  • - I heard a strange sound at dead of night. [나는 한 밤중에 이상한 소리를 들었다.]

 

  • at ease [편하게, 마음 편히]
  • - He didn’t feel at ease with so many strangers. [낯선 사람이 많이 있었으므로 편안하지 않았다]
  • feeling relaxed, especially in a situation in which people might feel a little nervous
  • at ease with
  • - She felt completely at ease with Bernard.
  • put/set somebody at (their) ease (=make someone feel relaxed)
  • - She had an ability to put people at their ease.

 

  • at heart [마음속은, 내심은]
  • - He is a kind man at heart. [그는 내심은 순한 사람이다.]
  • if you are a particular kind of person at heart, that is the kind of person that you really are even though you may appear or behave differently
  • - Let’s face it, we’re all romantics at heart.

 

  • at home [집에 있어], [마음 편히], [정통하여]
  • - He is at home today. [그는 오늘 집에 있다]
  • - Make yourself at home. [편안히 하세요]
  • - He is at home in English. [그는 영어에 정통하고 있다.]
  • if a sports team plays at home, they play at their own sports field ↔ away

  • - Birmingham Bullets are at home to Kingston.

 

  • at once A and B [A이기도 하고 B이기도 한]
  • - This book is at once interesting and instructive. [이 책은 재미있기도 하고 교훈적이기도 하다.]

 

  • at one’s convenience [형편 좋은 때에]

 

  • at one’s finger tips [ends] [정통해 있다, 환하다]
  • - He has the subject at his finger tips. [그는 그 문제에 환하다.]

 

  • at one’s wits’ [wit’s] end [어찌할 바를 몰라=at a loss]

 

  • at random [닥치는 대로, 엉터리로]
  • without any definite plan, aim, or pattern
  • choose/select/pick something at random
  • - The gang picked their victims at random.

 

  • at (the) bottom [마음속은, 실제로]
  • - He is a kind man at bottom. [그는 실제는 순하다.]
  • formal the way a person or situation really is, although they may seem different
  • - She’s a good kind person at bottom.

 

  • at the bottom of ~ [~의 밑(속)에]
  • - He is at the bottom of the class. [그는 학급에서 꼴찌이다.]

 

  • at the cost of ~ [~을 희생으로 하여]
  • - He got it at the cost of his life. [그는 생명을 희생으로 하여 그것을 얻었다.]

 

  • at the expense of ~ [~을 희생하여=at the cost of ~]
  • - at the expense of one’s health [건강을 희생하여]
  • if something is done at the expense of someone or something else, it is only achieved by doing something that could harm the other person or thing
  • - the growth in short breaks, at the expense of longer package holidays

 

  • at (the) latest [늦어도]
  • - Be here on Monday at the latest. [늦어도 월요일에 여기에 와주세요]
  • no later than the time mentioned
  • - I should be back by 11 o'clock at the latest.

 

  • at (the) most [기껏 해서, 많아야(도)]
  • - He will give me ten dollars at most. [많아야 10달러가량 밖에 안 줄 것이다]
